Nimbus Access FZ$279.95

The name says it all: Nimbus means it has a 3D Tepex Nimbus style framesheet: the best-fitting, most comfortable and durable frame on the market. Access means a panel loading system that makes packing and unpacking a breeze. FZ means it is leaner and meaner than most. Light Packs, the pack category that means it is designed for the backpacker that travels light (not ultralight). The main differences between the Nimbus Light Packs and the Nimbus Ultralight Packs are the beefier fabrics and the addition of a hip belt with an exoskeleton of HDPE plastic that supports more weight without sagging, and an external lid. Finally, 3800 means 3800 cubic-inch capacity.

FZ Packs

The Access FZ packs are the original pack body design for our Stratus & Nimbus Packs. FZ stands for Full Zoot. Access FZ packs can be loaded from the top or under the compression arches in the front of the pack are two lateral zippers, allowing you to zip down the front panel and access your load. There’s a set of internal compression straps that hold your gear in place. These internal compression straps combined with the stretch woven fabric panel takes the stress off the zippers as you zip the panel closed.

What torso length should I get?

To find your torso length, measure the distance between your seventh cervical vertebra and the shelf of your hipbones. Do this by standing up straight with your feet shoulder-width apart. Tilt your head forward and place your hands on your hips, thumbs to the back. With a flexible tape, have someone measure from the most prominent vertebra at the base of your neck to an imaginary line drawn between your thumbs. This will be your torso length.

Nimbus Torso Lengths
Short Torso 14” to 18”
Regular Torso 18” to 22”

NOTE: Each framesheet has fine adjustment settings spaced in one inch increments to further fine-tune your fit. If you are an 18” torso try the short torso first.

What size hipbelt?

Our Light Pack Belt has a single pivot point attachment, hip stabilizer adjustment straps, dual density foam, and a high-density plastic exoskeleton that forms a wishbone shape to cup around your hip crest and add load bearing support. When fit properly, this exoskeleton forms an effective "wrap" around your hips which helps to keep the belt positioned right where it needs to be to effectively transfer weight. This belt is standard equipment on all our light packs.

Medium 30"-34"
